FOLK FAIR 2008 STUDENT ESSAY &
TALENT QUEST CONTEST
In an effort to encourage all students to learn about each others
heritage the St. Petersburg International Folk Fair Society, Inc.
(SPIFFS) would like to invite the students of your school to enter
in the “Festivals Around the World” contests. These
contests are designed to motivate the students to learn about their
ethnic culture and of others. As we all know, this country is unique
because of our great diverse cultural make-up. The students’
participation in the contests will allow them to learn more about
their own heritage and each others place of origin, their country,
town or village their ancestors came from and when and where they
arrived on these shores. The Talent Quest contest is a multi-ethnic
dance contest.
