PUBLIC PARKING FOR FOLK FAIR ON NOVEMBER 6, 2010

PARKING, GETTING AROUND AND SHUTTLE . . .

Convenient and easy parking with FREE shuttle service will be available for the SPIFFS Folk Fair and the “Party in the Parks.”  Rather than spending time searching for a parking place on the street, take advantage of garage parking and shuttle service with special stops to serve the parking garages and Party in the Parks venues.  All day parking will only be $5 at the BayWalk Garage (entrance on 2nd Street North, mid-block between 1st and 2nd Avenues), the South Core Garage (entrance on 1st Avenue South, mid-block between 1st and 2nd Streets) and the Mahaffey parking lot/garage (entrance on 1st Street, between 4th and 5th Avenues South).

A FREE shuttle will be available for getting around the various “Party in the Park” venues and to the parking garages. The Party in the Parks shuttle, with eight convenient stops, will offer service every 10 to 15 minutes starting at 9:30 a.m. and continuing until to 9:30 p.m. (please note the northern most shuttle stop at 12th Ave. N. will close at 4 p.m.). All shuttle stops will be marked so you can easily find them.

For your convenience the shuttle stops include:

* Mahaffey Pkg. Lot - , stop located next to the parking lot/garage on the east side of 1st Street S between 4th and 5th Avenues S.

* Sat. Market/South Core Pkg. Garage – stop located close to the garage and next to the Sat. Market on the east side of 1st Street S just south of 1st Avenue S.

* BayWalk Pkg. Garage – stop located across the street from the garage on the east side of 1st Street N just south of First Avenue N.

* Pier Approach/Museums/Straub Pk – stop located on east side of Bayshore Drive just north of 2nd Avenue NE, providing easy access to the Museum of History, Spa Beach, Museum of Fine Arts, North & South Straub Parks and connecting trolley service to the Pier.

* N. Shore Pk./Palm Arboretum – stop located on south side of 12th Avenue NE, just west of North Shore Drive NE., providing easy access to North Shore Park, the Centennial Sundial and the Gizella Kopisck Arboretum and stage

* Vinoy Pk./SPIFFS Folk Fair – stop located on north side of 7th Avenue NE just west of Bayshore Drive, providing easy access to Vinoy Park, the Folk Fair and TASCO teen and children’s activities.

* Vinoy/N. Straub Park (southbound shuttle only) – stop located on west side of Bayshore Drive just south of 5th Avenue N, providing easy access to Vinoy Park, Vinoy Hotel and N. Straub Park.

* Albert Whitted Pk. – stop located on west side of Bayshore Drive just north of 5th Avenue S., providing easy access to Albert Whitted Park & Airport, the Salvador Dali Museum stage at the Mahaffey waterside fountain.
